One of my newest guilty pleasures in reality tv is VH1’s “Viva Hollywood“. The show is a competition to become the next telenovela star. “Viva Hollywood” is highly entertaining and very competitive. Every week the cast competes in themed challenges and one person is killed off after competing in “el duelo”. I don’t know much about telenovelas or Latin stars, so it’s always interesting to get a glimpse into the world of Latin entertainment with the guest stars that appear on the show. Of course there is a lot of drama, especially with the arrogant Vinci and the ladies man Berto (who actually who supposedly has a long term girlfriend back home). If you haven’t checked out this show, it comes on Sundays at 10 on VH1.

I watched about 5-10 minutes of it. All i saw is bad acting, I did not even pick up the fact that it was a Latin based show (Even though i saw a lot of Latin Americans…did not realize all were). However, It is a big untouched market, and they are even less represented on tv than us (african americans). But, I would not say this show represents their culture as much as I would not say I luv NY, or Flavor of Love represents ours.
Yeah I definitely don’t think it’s non-stereotypical representation of Latin culture…but still it’s entertaining.

Watched it about two times .that latin guy fr dancing with the stars was one of the guest judge on it one night. It was pretty interesting but nothing that I really wish to follow.
Try “big brother” when it comes back on,next season,now that’s interesting!
Ps Reecie, theirs two guys and (I forgot her name) this black girl whose left has the “american idol” finalists and am just praying that she or that Latino guy win because they are soo good.we’ll c though.
