Listen: Usher “Flash” featuring Pharrell Williams

Usher has a new track featuring Pharrell Williams called “Flash”. I really hope that this isn’t new material that will be on his upcoming album, because this isn’t hot. I don’t know where he is going with this at all…it sounds very dated and his vocal delivery is just awkward. I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe this is just a throwaway track. Click here to listen

What do you guys think of this track? Do you think this is a good direction for him to take his music?

yes this sounds very circa ‘99-’00 neptunes, and not a good look for the new album
the casio keys is killin me, lol

i too am gonna give usher the benefit of doubt, and say this was some old stuff, test demo, or something he know he bet’ not put on the new disc, lol

pharell is so lazy he has reworked the hell outta that sound for a decade, with no shame

jermar - for the past 5 years, everything the neptunes released sounds like its from 2000.

this song sounds incomplete. i doubt that this will make the final cut.

Oh oh,your scaring me Reecie.is it that bad! Anyways I can’t get to listen it right now but I will when I can.

But if your interested, Usher has another song called “I CAN’T WIN”
    (Written by Ne-yo)
and it sounds very good to me.I wish I had a link to give you but unfortunatley I don’t at the moment.
I heard the song and instantly felt for it and not because of Ne-yo,I had no clue,Ne-yo wrote it,until after the fact.

Anyways,I hope you and the Honorable check that song out,I think ya’ll like it…………

Not the best Usher song, but I still love him.

    Ps the song:
“I CAN’T WIN” ,his a really good song and is sure to be another Usher hit.its a slow tempo song and shows you Usher’s vocal range, which is really good in my opinion.

Pss Ne-yo is the total package……

Well yes everything that the neptunes releases does sound circa ‘00, but isn’t that what we love? I can never hate on a Pharrell beat…. he always makes me feel so mellow…i can always vibe… however, i do agree that this sounds like an incomplete, maybe draft version of the cut. It’s not that bad…. but after coming so hard with Love in the Club and Love in the Club remix…this is HARDLY up to par….

P.S. i been MIA for the last month or so… what happened to Thesis? He doesn’t contribute anymore?

Oh and Reecie, this has nothing to do with Usher… but who heard that Foxy Brown clip where she is in court and the lawyer starts to get annoyed because she cant hear and he has to repeat everything! Pure comedy. i mean its not really funny, but i couldnt help but to laugh….!!!http://cbs4.com/video/?id=53800@wfor.dayport.com

oh and OBAMA WON N. CAROLINA! YAY!

It sound very dated…the only songs that have remotely sound great that he has dropped is Love in the Club (part II - pretty much a YEAH 2008 remake) and Dat Girl ( but I’m not even sure this will be on the album. It will probably grow on me…like most of his music has.

Not a fan, but I took a listen. It was unimaginative and boring as all hell. Not even something I’d want to hear in the background. :-)

    >Please listen to Clipse

The Clipse’s debut album sounds more modern than their sophomore effort. The “Hell Hath No Fury” was great because of its lyrical technicality, despite the lack of lyrical substance, with production that left alot to be desired. Their debut album was nearly flawless.

Hey Monique! You know I was/am incredibly excited about Barack’s NC win! Now I can take a huge sigh of relief and start getting juiced for the general election.

“I can’t win” is another stargate production. It’s another hit i think… Stargate are ne yo’s go to producer.

usher has the tendency to sound dated on all his tracks, i was listening to the confessions album as of late and its very circa 04 and very safe. the new tracks are nothing spectacular in my opinon, moving mountains (confirmed second single) is only touching the echelon of what he is capable of. plus the cheesiness evident in all his videos is particularly annoying. he really needs to get on top of that and start pushing vocally, energetically and come back hustling something new, refreshing and unexpected or he will risk the buzz and and so-called excitement of his return.

Vu,and Mariah is different in what way?
I think she can learn a thing or two from ursh in my opinion, don’t you think!
    Ne-yo too……
