Rihanna has a new video for her song “Take A Bow”. I think the song is pretty lackluster, but I like that she actually tried to do a video with an actual plot. Unfortunately, it’s hard to show much emotion and energy for a song that is so…flat. I’m sure her fans will be happy just to hear new music from her and see a new video…but I can’t imagine this winning over new people or compelling anyone to go out and buy her re-release. I know u don’t like that song that much but it is a really good song.The first time I heard it,I fell for it.U just got to listen to the words of that song..
It tugs at your heart.You feel it alot, especially if you have been through that situation or if you are going through that situation with someone you have strong feelings for.
I like that she choose that song for her re-release,but I kinda get what you are saying.A lot of people bought her first cd because she hit the jackpot real big with her song umbrella.So I guess they probably would have preferred her to choose a song along does line.
But for me, personally I really do like it.I think that it showed a different more mature side of her.And I actually don’t think she sounds like Beyonce but I understand y people would say that she does……
Riri is becoming her own person.She is developing into a more mature woman.I hope that she continues to grow but at the same time,don’t stray to far from what makes her unique……..

As I said in my Kanye West concert review, Rihanna is actually very talented. Seeing her live made me realize that for whatever reason, recordings don’t really capture the beauty in her voice. She kind of reminds of Mary J in that regard…Mary tends to sound hella shaky on record, but then when you see her in concert she just blows it out of the water. I still haven’t figured out why that is though.
Nonetheless, this song doesn’t do her any justice. I think whoever is producing her records is not really giving her the ability to use her vocal range and the result is a bland song like this. In concert, I noticed that on every song she does more of hitting high notes, holding a note longer, and showing off a much wider range than the actual recordings. So…my guess is that the people she is working with in the studio are holding her back more than anything.
if that is the case, then shouldnt she have had more say in what single she comes out with, what direction she wants her career to go with, i mean she had jay on a leash, at least she could have told the management that her career success accouts for something akin to her having control of what singles she wants to be released…take a bow is all kinda shaky and tells me that she isnt sure of what artist she is wanting to be
