The Roots have a new video for their single “Rising Up” featuring Chrisette Michele and Wale. The video is pretty simple…pretty much just them performing the song which I’m sure is just fine with Roots fans. When done right, performance videos can be really interesting and fun to watch (i.e. The Roots “Hot Music”)…but I don’t see this video really expanding their fan base. Perhaps at this point that is not what they are going for…but nonetheless the song is still hot. I love the energy of the track and I think Chrisette and Wale were great choices as add-ons.
What do you guys think of the video? Do you think they should’ve been more creative with their video?

I really like that song (keep bleeding) that she sings.
She has a really good voice.she kinda reminds me of a cross between Mariah
and Alicia keys.
