This has been floating around the internet for a couple of days, but I just it was interesting to see a music fanatic with an apple computer re-make Usher’s “Love in the Club” with pre-set/pre-made sounds in GarageBand - which is a FREE program.
Polow da Don states that:
“That’s not where I got them from, but they’re definitely in there,” Polow said of the sounds used in “Love in This Club,” telling SOHH he had yet to view the YouTube video. “There’s this keyboard I have that a lot of sounds come in.”
Polow noted that the song contains a live bassline and that Robin Thicke was enlisted to play piano on the record.
“If a ten-year-old can make ‘Love in This Club’ and save Usher’s career and make black women want to f*ck him again, after they was done with him for getting married, then sh*t he’s a genius just like me,” Polow said. “I also wrote the hook - that’s not a preset.”
Hey Polow - the writing is on the wall and you were exposed. But rather than being an asshole about his implication of saving Usher’s career (umm…wasn’t Confession is LAST album?), he should have just been cocky about his production skills. Dude - you made a hot beat for an already established artist - you did not save his career. All Polow had to do was quote Timbaland and say something like “it doesn’t make if you have the most expensive equipment in the world or the cheapest, I can make a hot beat, regardless because I’m a dope producer.”
What do you think of Polow da Don getting exposed? Should Usher get a refund for this 6 figure beat made with a FREE program? Would you be upset if you were Usher? Does this make you like the song less or more? I know we all think Polow is an asshole….

Polow truly is the biggest jack ass! We’ve already established that. What is he talking about Black women were done with him for getting married? Is he smoking crack? Nobody was done with Usher and people have been eagerly waiting for his new music period. For Polow to take credit is just arrogance and stupidity. I remember when I posted the Icebox remix with Usher people went bananas. So…Polow has his facts wrong once again.
He is a fraud and he is a moron.
fruitloops is also a free program and 9th wonder uses that to make all of his beats. garage band is a wonderful program. erykah badu did her whole album using it so although it’s free doesn’t mean its not a quality program. i dont think this “exposes” powlow at ALL. its more of a reflection of the money being thrown around in the industry and how outrageous it is. nowadays its all about the production. many artists have commented on that. even with confessions, people acknowledge it was the PRODUCTION on that album that made it as monumental as it was. but overall it comes down to capitalism, so if somebody is willing to pay 6 figures for production; its going to happen. he doesn’t HAVE to be diplomatic about the way he responds to anything. i dont think hes an assole any more than any other artists who thinks that their contributions are the best thing given to the world since fire…
I dont even like the song so im orite…everytime I hear it it makes me cringe.
You don’t need expensive equipment to make great music. With the program friuty loops you could make the beat to Try again and a Juvenile song. If you have talent than you can make great songs with stuff like Fruity Loops, Acid, or other music program. Ten years ago people didn’t have access to these kind of equipment but now everybody does. The problem is to many people are making average stuff.
*fruitloops is not a free program, however everyone downloads like it is free….
on Polow da don
- I am into music production and it is known among beat makers that polow dont make any of his beats. Basically his staff makes a beat and he gets production credit b/c he “produces” the song. So, I would not be surprised if he did not know where the beat came from.
But at the end of the day it is not about the equipment, it is about the end product.
last
Usher- love in the club video is in rotation on BET (saw it a few hours ago while working out) so i am sure it is online somewhere
ummm… i dunno its a mad production and you need sum skill to make it happen. So umm.. I don’t really care about the program he used to make the beat. A refund…. well, would anybody else have made it before Polow Da don? Nah. I’m not sure
great points. i think it take MORE talent to make an awesome product with the basics less fancy equipment than it is to have an entire team making it for you (a la Dr. Dre).
when i saw badu in concert a few years back, she only had a drummer, a pianist, and a bassist - and im thinking - where the f is the rest of her BAND? well, the performed everything perfect or BETTER than the album and had the band members play more than one instrument - which was impressive.
I just hate that Polow is a jerk.
another dime a dozen nigga in the industry
Although his comment was ridiculously rude and tasteless… He was right… Usher has tried to push at least 4 singles already and NONE have picked up until Love in the CLub, and it still took a while for this record to get spins. He did save Usher’s career and Ush should be happy. With that said… Ush will never ever ever have another Confessions… he peaked and now he has extra drama to steer his fans away so its only down from this point on anyway… Polow just help to make sure it wasnt a plummet and a gradual fall to the bottom.
Two words to that idiot! SHUT UP!!!
wow……..I been tired of Polow…..for some odd reason never liked him, and never knew him
then he validated my suspicions, by all the dumb s*** he says
make good beats and STFU
No EB! Ushers career was never dead and will never be dead! I wasn’t the biggest usher fan but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like him or respect his true talents ! Because he does have true a talent in singing and charisma ,he got that bagged!
And as for him being married,am glad he is! If she’s the one who makes him happy,so be it!
Stay happy Usher and don’t let them haters get u down!
