Last night was the finale of America’s Best Dance Crew and it was full of collaborative dances with all of the different groups.
First up was the West with Jabba Wockeez, Fish & Chicks, and Kaba Modern and performing to “Go Dumb”. I gotta say this performance was hella wack. Hyphy music is full of energy and just wild and crazy so getting some of the most technical and precise dance teams to perform to that song was not a good match at all. I can get way more hyphy than that after a glass of wine lol.
Second was the South with Live In Color and Enigma performing to “Get Low”. This performance was exactly what I would expect it to be lots of ass shaking. There was nothing groundbreaking in the performance (I mean who didn’t dance like that to Lil John when the song came out? lol), but it was very entertaining. I think Live in Color should’ve been final 3, they are definitely way better than the three other teams that outlasted them.
More performance recaps, videos, and the winner after the jump
Next was wack ass Iconiq and Status Quo. Who in the hell went all the way back to the 20th century to pick LL Cool J’s “Phenomenon”? I didn’t get the song choice at all. I wasn’t impressed by this performance either, but I think Iconiq’s corniness really brought down Status Quo.
From the Midwest there was Break Skate and Femme 5 performing to “Pop Lock & Drop It”. I think these groups did a good job. The girls worked it out, but I thought it was funny how they were all smiling and chipper with it. Had it been 5 Black chicks up there the facial expressions would’ve been totally different… we don’t smile when we pop lock & drop it…we take it too seriously lol. Break Skate’s tricks were pretty cool too.
The final performance was Status Quo vs. Jabba Wockeez doing a step show type battle. I was surprised that both groups did such a good job with the stepping. I know there are some Black Greeks out there hella salty right now that they got swagger jacked lol. I think it was the perfect final face off and it brought up the suspense factor.
After all the dancing, Jabba Wockeez was crowned the winner of America’s Best Dance Crew and I think they deserved it. I was rooting more for Status Quo, but their sloppiness is probably what did them in. Jabba Wockeez did a great job all season so kudos to them.
Did you check out this season of Dance Crew? Who do you think deserved to win? Which judge was the most annoying?

i thought kaba and jabba should have been final two. but thought jabba would have won anyway. although i was rooting for kaba from the start, their hip hop international routine final in 07 was awesome.
damn we ain’t got nothing like this over seas but from watching these clips i had to like femme 5 doin pop lock n drop it that was fiyah.
jabba wockeez were cool their stepping was great.
Kaba and Jabba must have been the finle two. I’m not life in US, but I watch it on MTV.Com. Man JabbaWockeeZ kill it every week man. God Bless JabbaWockeeZ and Status Quo and RESPECT. Really I can’t believ it 38 Million votesss!!!!! WAAAAAUUUUWW. and one thing America’s Best Dance Crew season 2 the crews that will be in the new season they better come hard, because JabbaWockeeZ has kill this season verry hard, you know wthat I mean.
Man again much respect
They have allready a website and TV channel so I hope I can see them live when they perform
First let me say I was please that my hometown brought home America’s Best Dance Crew. Big ups to JabbaWockeeZ, I’m sure I went to school with one of them dudes.
The last head to head battle was a disappointment. The stepped over some other beat. The sounds that were heard were from some recorded track. I’ve stepped plenty of times so I have a whole other perspective on the “Stomp the Yard” stepping period, but that’s a whole other blog.
I rank the teams…
1. JabbaWockeeZ were the best all season
2. Kaba Modern
3. Color in Motion
4. Status Quo
5. Fish and Chicks
6. the first cry baby group to get booted
7. Fem 5
8. Brake Skate
I was screaming when JabbaWockeeZ won haha. I’m glad they won, but it should have been Kaba vs. Jabba. I also think third place should have gone to Live in Color… they were hella dope!
I don’t think anybody is gonna come close to Jabba this summer… nope!
I think they earned it!
