New York Giants Upset the New England Patriots + What was the Best Super Bowl Ad?

Yesterday I was at the Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Caroline Kennedy, Stevie Wonder, and Maria Shriver Obama rally at UCLA (go Bruins!)…so I missed the first quarter and some change of the Super Bowl. However…it was still a great game and a total nail biter. I’m a native Bostonian, so of course I had to pull for the Patriots…but they just got outplayed yesterday. It’s too bad that they picked the biggest game of the year to totally fall apart.

Randy Moss was mostly useless throughout the game, and where in the hell was the coverage for Tom Brady? It was just disgraceful for them to let Brady get pummeled so many times…NOT “best team in history” caliber playing. On the other hand, Eli Manning came through in the clutch and threw a great pass to Plaxico Burress, who up until that point had a very underwhelming performance, to seal the victory for the Giants.

So…all in all it was a competitive game, and the Giants proved that a perfect season means very little without the championship title. Congrats Giants! But on to what is perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of the Super Bowl…the ads.

I missed a lot of ads obviously, but the funniest one I saw was the Will Ferrell ad for his new movie ”Semi Pro”. He has the same schtick for every movie, but if it ain’t broke, why fix it? The ad that tripped me out the most was the debut of Hyundai’s new car. They stated that it was roomier than a 7-Series but priced like a 3-Series. So I had to ask, who in the hell would buy a Hyundai for the same price of a BMW? As a matter of fact at the price of a 3-Series you could also buy a Benz, Lexus, and just about any other luxury brand! The ad for AMP with the guy dancing to Push It was kinda funny too.

So what do you guys think of the game? Were you pulling for a perfect Patriots season or were you hoping for an upset? Which commercial was the best one this year? Which one was the worst?

This was one, if not THE, best Super Bowls I’ve ever seen. It was a great game. I don’t know if the Giants D-Line or Eli Manning should have one the MVP. I lean more towards Manning, but big ups to the d-line who put more pressure on Brady than he had ever faced the last couple seasons.

Can’t take anything away from anyone. Every player played the best that he could. Randy was shut down, so they tried other options, but Welker could only do so much (In 2 years he’ll be forgotten).

Best commerical was the Sobe Life Water. Maybe because the woman in the commercial was so hot!

I like the life water commercial with naomi doing the thriller dance, I like the shaq vitamin water commercial where he was riding the horse, I liked the justin timberlake commercial and I cant remember for the life of me what the product was… and all the e-trade commercials with the baby were hilarious too… Those are the only I can remember right now…

I am too happy right now though that the Giants won… Bellicheaters never win so its just bittersweet… even though I am not a giants fan… but since I am in NYC I will be partying all week long!

Despite the outcome of the Superbowl, the Patriots had a championship season 18 &1. As close to perfection as you can get. The Giants reminded me of a pack of maddogs, a drug test should be done to determine if they were on drugs. The Giants lost 40% of their games, hardly a Championship season. They won by 3 points which is hardly a resounding victory. The fates were against the Patriots, what are the odds that Manning would break free from two Patriot defenders and throw a 50 yard pass while off balance to a Giant player who would have the ball bounce off his helmet! The odds are about a million to one. The Giants are losing their defensive coordinator to either the Steelers,Facons or Steelers. TheGiants are going to have a giant bullseye on their backs from every team who wants to beat the Superbowl Champs. It’s going to be a long and painful season for them. As for the Patriots, Bellichick and Kraft will sit down this week to decide how much money they need to retool the team so they’ll never find themselves in this situation again. Go Patriots!
