N.E.R.D - Everyone Nose (listen)
I am a HUGE fan of N.E.R.D’s “In Search Of…” because it was the perfect fusion of R&B, pop, rock, and hip-hop drums played with live instrumentation (even though the original version had funnier skits). Then N.E.R.D came out with the mediocre and overly rock influenced Fly or Die. Now, Pharrell (not Skateboard P), Chad, and that Other Guy (what does he do again?) are back with a weird but fun and funky 1st single for their third album N.3.R.D. I love it…reminds me why I love the Neptunes and NOT Skateboard P.
Flo-Rida feat. Timbaland - Elevator (listen)
Flo Rida has been getting ALOT of play with his hit single “Low.” I still think that song sucks. The more I listen to Flo Rida, the more he sounds like a bootleg Nelly. South Florida is having a H-Town run in hip-hop and that’s cool for now, I guess - but does anybody remember what happened to Mike Jones, Slim Thug, and Paul Wall? Yea - we woke up and realized that they are talentless…well, Florida and Flo Rida will probably go through the same thing. Timbaland wasted a good pop beat on Flo like Nelly
Shawty Redd ft. Big Gipp - Drifter (listen)
Young Jeezy’s producer is attempting to be the next producer-turned-rapper with his upcoming album Jekyll & Hyde. While Shawty Redd is the mastermind behind Snoop’s Sensual Eruption banger, his own product sounds good, but very 80s-ish. He reminds me of Cool and Dre on this track. If you like the vibe of Sensual Eruption, then you should like this song. Otherwise, it falls short of Snoop.

haha i used to go to their concerts alllll the time before pharrell was this hugeee artist. I even have that shirt chad is wearing in that pic hahah. Shay is pretty talented behind the mic. Anyways this song sounds very NERD and less SKATEBOARD P. Im diggin it =] I didnt think they were going to start up another album because of Arista.
I’m a Nerd fan too and i thought i was the only one that that florida sounded like a fake nelly.
I actually liked Fly or Die. The song Maybe was my jam. I remember in 2000 the Neptunes was the hotter producer in the game. Everything they produced was a hit but they haven’t made that much noise in a long time. They have produce a few good songs like Blue Magic and Hollerback girl but nothing special. I think the last good album they produced was Justified and Lord Riding. I did like the five tracks they produced on that Snoop Dogg’s R&G album. I guess the Bad boy Soundtrack was pretty hot.
I remember everybody going crazy for Paul Wall when he did that song on Kanye’s second album but he ruined his buzz by releasing his debut album.
Ugh, “wasted” that beat - most apt way of putting it. Wonder if Flo-Rida is a guest planned for Shock Value II…hope not, lol.
Fly or Die was a great album. (Jump, Maybe, The way she dances)His crooning is killer on that album. We should discuss the new lenny kravitz song and video. I am curious.
