Flo-Rida (ft. T-Pain) - Low; The-Dream Demo Track

Flo Rida - Low (ft. T-Pain) (listen)

I’ll never forget the time the homie Will said that “Laffy Taffy” would be a hit. I thought it was the worst record since Eddie Murphy’s “Party of the Time.” Three months later, I was in the club leaning and rocking to “Laffy Taffy” with a Long Island Ice Tea in my hand. Well, the homie Will has done it again. He informed thehonorable of a song called “Low” by a cat called Flo Rida (pronounced Flow Rider, but he is from Florida…so, Flo Rida…ah man, this hip-hop artists are clever! <—cynicism).

I had a feeling that “Low” could be a BET 106 and Park hit because it has T-Pain on it, but who would’ve thought that it’s the #4 song in the nation and the most downloaded single on iTunes for the past month. What’s next? A collab with Soulja Boy and a Grammy nomination? (Sidebar: Wasn’t it Dave Chappelle that said people sing and play songs they have no clue what the meaning is. Chappelle’s example: Skeet Skeet! (c) Lil Jon / 2007 example: Superman dat hoe (c) Soulja Boy)

I think this song is hot garbage, it sounds like a Nelly demo record. The beat is nothing special. Not once did I nod my head or get the urge to dance. And the lyrics? Here goes a sample: “Shorty was hot like a toaster/Sorry but I had to fold her/Like a pornography poster/She showed her.” The only time I could enjoy this song is after multiple Long Island Ice Teas at a strip club with 100 $1 bills in my hand (of course, thehonorable is cheap and would leave the strip club with 90 $1 bills in his pocket).

The-Dream - Bed (demo version) (listen)

Here goes the controversial demo version of J. Holiday’s “Bed.” Controversial between the The-Dream selling the song to Chris Brown and J. Holiday. The-Dream’s version isn’t bad at all and it’s demo version is enough to convince any R&B singer that it’s a hit. But the bridge is HORRIBLE and exposes The-Dream’s vocal ability, but we won’t hold that against him being that it is a DEMO and not the real thing. Still an interesting listen.

Check out my review of The-Dream’s album here and check out Reecie’s review of J. Holiday’s album here

What do you think of Flo Rida? Is he getting alot of radio play in your area? Which version of “Bed” do you like better - The-Dream or J. Holiday? Let us know what you think!

I most def like J Holiday better than the dream.

    J. Holiday definitely made the song his bitch…but you also have to put into consideration that The Dream’s version was rough. There’s no post production work done on it at all. I’m sure it would sound good with some EQing..etc.

Anyways..I was on vacay in Miami last month and this “Low” track was on HEAVY HEAVY rotation over there. Fast forward a few weeks and it’s just as heavy up here..*sigh*. I’m with you on this one though honorable, only in the strip clubs. I’m also with you on the little to no tipping. Uh-uh b…I don’t tip. My money’s only for drinks, lappies or food afterwards. HAHA!

To me, j holiday did not change anything…. except hun to oo .

But jholiday vocal tone/quality is better.. i am actually glad jholiday got it instead of chris brown.

Another artist bringing nothing to the game.

J Holiday definitely takes that round. On a couple parts other cat sounds like Marquis Houston with his nose plugged.

The dream is a writer; he wrote the song with the purpose of a BETTER SINGER using it. J. Holiday was a great choice…what I want to hear is how Chris brown would’ve done it

I don’t listen to radio out here..well cus I dont have one, but Flo Rida’s “Low” is getting heavy rotation on AOL and Yahoo’s music websites…much to my chagrin. That song is awful and beyond the pointless that makes for fun listening. I know the music industry operates under a capitalist system, that goes for what sells and can be marketed, but isnt there some decent loving human being who cares about what they inflict on the listening public. I’d rather listen to American Idol rejects…at least they provide some entertainment value.

okay…i was buggin, and ive calmed down…but yea, the song works for mindless listening and dancing i guess (but then thats goes to the comedy sketch that ppl will dance to anything, i think it was chris rock)…but never attempt to listen to music and listen to this song. You’ll lose valuable time.

    Ms. Anonymous… i agree 100% with you.

he made this DEMO probably to just get someone interested in the song…..he still sounds good on it though…. clearly J. Holiday did the song more justice…. so i guess that’s why it’s on J. Holiday’s album and not Dream’s.

I would LOVE to hear how C. Brown would sing this….
