how can ya’ll say that abt him, the boy is good, he’s got a great voice and everyone loves him and his songd, including wot you say to be his ‘high pitch almost feminine’ voice, everyone at my college is luvin him and i noe people hu has bought his CD icluding me.

This is definitely 1 a ma favorite R&B albums of all time. Reason for this is because I can relate to most things that J.Holiday is saying. From the trying to ease my mind by just chilling in my own company with liquor as he does in “Back of my Lac” to obeying the “Thug Commandments”. His vocals are smooth enough to woo the females but lyrical content is hardcore enough for the fellas to agree with and feel.I’ve seen where a few people are disturbed or feel uncomfortable cuz of his swearing but it actually is something i welcome,not because I’m a raunchy person but because I think he uses explicit lyrics for the reason they’re made for,to enhance emotions,in my opinion at least. Overall I would give this album a 8.5/10 Definitely worth listening, and more than once…

I found J’s debut album pretty satisfying although I must admit it got off to a thuggish start and I was unsure if the content would progress into something more mature but surprisingly it did. Beautiful voice!I think he did pretty damn good(lil sumthin for everybody).My favorite songs are “Without You”, “Suffocate”, and of course “Bed”. Keep it coming my brother!

the song that u labeled “laa laa” is actually called “good for each other”. “laa laa” is another song. by the way, the album is amazing. i love most of the songs. the only ones that i dont really listen to that much are back of my lac, ghetto, thug commandments, fatal, and without you.. and i like the last two, i’m just not CRAZY about them. the album’s really good tho.. even tho i agree that the edited version is better because there’s no cursing, and u can focus on the music instead of being uncomfortable! =)

I adore this album. It’s very reminiscent of Trey Songz debut album ‘I gotta make it’
I love the over all earnestness of it. The majority of the responses seem to dwell on the references to drugs, drinking, and the cursing but I think they are all assets that make this album worthy of being put into a daily rotation.

I bout this CD because I was in best buy looking for trey songz and it was sold out. The J Holiday CD was 6.99 so I said I’ll check it out until I can get trey. I have tried and tried but I feel like he tricked me. Listening to his CD is just making me want to get The Dream when he drops. The two best songs are Bed and suffocate. I like fallin also. What is all the cursing, weed smoking, and drinking about. I thought it was going to be R&B not Thug and B. I’ll give it another shot if not its to FYE for a trade in I go!!

After reading this review and following the recommendation of a friend, I decided to sample “Fatal” first. It definitely wasn’t a big hit with me. Slow and boring! Ignoring the lyrics completely, I would have to say that it sounds just like every other sad, RnB, love song.

Hopefully the rest of the album will be better!
