Video Leak: Jill Scott- My Love Plus 2 New Jill Scott Tracks Live

Jill Scott’s new album “The Real Thing” is in stores now, but unfortunately I never found a album preview to post. However, there are some performances of  Jill performing tracks from her new album, so I decided to bring that back to the top so people can get a taste of her music.

Jill Scott’s new unreleased video for “My Love” hit youtube. Jill looks great with her new look, and she sounds amazing on the song.  I think this song will be big with the adult contemporary and neo-soul crowd.

Jill performed a few songs for a VH1 Soul Concert recently. First up, she performed “Whenever You’re Around”. I’m loving this song…this is grown folks music for sure and she is sings the hell out of this song. The music scene is saturated with a bunch of marginally talented artists, so it’s nice to get back to the real soul music.

Up next is “The Real Thing” the title music from her album. This is a more rock infused track, but she still brings the soul and the funk to it. Her swagger is on point and I love the defiance of her lyrics. I normally wouldn’t go for a song like this but I can’t help but feel this one…it kinda reminds me of a little throwback Tina Turner Jill is back with some heat for her new album.

What do you guys think of this new video and Jill’s new image? How are you feeling these three new tracks? Is Jill going to bring real singing back?

I have a strange feeling this next Jill Scott album will be a “sleeper” even to the neo-soul contemporary folk out there. But, this album will be some of her best work. It may read like a prediction though, I’m sure the coming months will reveal my prediction to be true. The first 2 joints sound like they are more personal. In my opinion it’s like Mary J Bliges My Life album. It had this air or undertone of a more inexplicable personal feel to it.Almost as if she was talking to the person listening.I call it the Etta James echo.Listen to her stuff(Etta James).I think it’ll be great in it’s own right.Much respect posters/repliers.Much respect Jill Scott’s 2 joints very nice.

Some people cater to Jill’s music…she really doesn’t do it for me. Although, “The Way” and “Sweet Justice” are bangers….maybe I don’t really give her much of a chance…could just be me….
