New Music: 2 Britney Spears Tracks; J. Lo/Ludacris; Chris Brown: Kiss Kiss Video

The trainwreck queen Britney Spearsis trying to make a comeback with two new tracks. I promise you everytime I see a picture of Britney Spears or hear a headline about her I throw up a little in my mouth…but that doesn’t stop me from being curious about what her new music sounds like. Back in the day she had some hot stuff for a pop artist, so I know that even with her marginal talent she has potential. Anyway, first up is her new song “Gimmie More”. For a pop semi techno song it sounds a lot better than I expected it to. If I was partying it up at Area or LAX then I would probably rock to it. I wonder if this is the song she recorded a crazy video for. If she can clean up her image she might be able to get her core audience back on her team. Click here to listen On the other hand there is “Cold as Fire” which is total trash. Click here to listen

Up next on the non-singing tip is Jennifer Lopez. I actually really like J. Lo as an actress and she’s a pretty good dancer, but she still hasn’t learned how to sing. She has a new song out called “Do It Well” featuring Ludacris. It’s a typical J. Lo song…nothing special really. I liked her “Get Right” sound better than this…but she has solidifed somewhat of a fan base and I think they will like her song. Luda once again shows his versatility by throwing in a few Spanish lines in his verse…pretty tight. Click here to listen

Chris Brown’s new video for “Kiss Kiss” featuring T-Painis out. One thing I like about the video is that there is always something visually interesting going on. Chris always brings so much energy and life to his music that I can’t help but like it. Chris has been talking a lot lately about how he likes to take advantage of his in demand status by dating plenty of woman…and I’m not a fan of promiscuity even if you are young, rich, and famous. But of course it’s too much like right to expect someone in his shoes to not act a damn fool. Anyway…it’s pretty funny seeing T-Pain totally getting into the song with his super wack dancing. The crazy thing about T-Pain is that I don’t think he knows he has no real talent. But…his gimmick is working for him and it actually works for the song too. This should be a bigger song for Chris than Wall to Wall.

What do you think about these new tracks? Will Britney Spears be able to get her life together in order to promote her new material? Better yet, shouldn’t she be taking care of home before she tries to make a comeback? How do you like Luda’s Espanol on the J Lo track? Is Chris Brown girl crazy or what? Isn’t T-Pain a smidgen too old to be trying to keep up with Chris? lol

The Britney Spears track sounds like Timbaland’s ‘Way I Are.’ I know Danja produced both, but he could’ve changed it up a little more.

Idk…the Britney ones, to me, were better than I expected, and okay for pop music. But…eh, she’s far too much a trainwreck to pull through, I think.

I’m liking the Britney tracks strangely enough, it’s funny that someone said Gimme More sounded too much like The Way I Are . . . both were produced by Danja and for Gimmer More Keri Hilson supposedly wrote the lyrics. So I guess it was inevitable to have some similarities. Similar or not, I’m digging the tracks, but hoping Britney has a secret weapon up her sleeve for an even hotter track.

i just read on mtv.com that the two britney songs are “only b-sides”, however, “gimme more” has been getting a positve response so it could be released as her first new single.

anyway, “gimme more” is alright. its not as poptastic as “toxic” or “boys”, but its a hell of a lot better than “cold as ice”. wtf at the first five seconds of that song, “AAAAAHAAAAAAAH!” she sounds like shes having a medical emergency. i thought danjahandz would have gave britney something with a little more heat, its an alright beat, but he was a little over zealous with the laser noises and the frog croaking (in the “more” part of the chorus).

so much for the comeback brit.

jennifer lopez can do no wrong for me, shes actually a pretty decent actress and the camera loves her, so i don’t mind her sticking around in the industry. all she needs to do is get rid of that skeletor husband of hers.

I dont agree with you saying t-pain has no real talent. Even he cant sing that great (he can sing but it may not be up to par with the other artist out) he is still killing it with his production and his songwriting, I believe he produces all his own stuff as well as the songs he’s featured on as well as doing the hooks, so the man certainly has talent just not in the singing dept.

danja should have gave those beats to another artist cause britney spears just ain’t cuttin’ it 2 me…

as far as chris brown goes, i’m not really feelin’ this song but maybe it’ll grow on me and t-pain does have talent, he just reqires a fan blowin’ for it to really come out…naw foreal he does know how 2 rap

I also posted that J-Lo song and let me tell you that I love J-Lo’s looks but she can’t sing at all! There have been real singers that have come and gone during J-Lo’s career…. I don’t know how she’s still making records.. Anyway this song is stir-fried-garbage (w/o soy sauce)!

T-Pain needs to stop taking credit for using autotune. Roger Troutman is turning in his grave, and I suspect Teddy Riley is turning wherever the hell he is. This is why music is suffering, cause the next man is always trying to take credit for something they didn’t even pioneer.

Britney could come back, but right now I think people believe she is such a risk, they probably don’t even want to waste good beats on her. Cause as long as a song by Britney has a good beat, it doesn’t even matter people will jam. We already know she can’t sing for shit anyways, she has never sang live ever in her life. She should really not even be trying to have a career right now when her kids are about to get taken away from her, but um to each their own. I guess her management is content with jacking up her life.
