New Videos: Twista/Pharrell, Lil Mo/Jim Jones, Wyclef Jean/Akon/Lil Wayne

Twista has a new video for his song “Give It Up” featuring Pharrell. Basically the video is a rip off Kanye West’s Gold Digger video. I’m just not really a fan of the song…the fellas will enjoy all of the women in the video though.

Lil Mo also has a new video for her song “Sumtimes I” featuring Jim Jones. I see she is trying to vamp up her image with her weight loss and a boob job. I’m not feeling this song for several reason…songs about cheating almost always get an automatic thumbs down, and it’s just a little on the corny side. But I must tell you that Lil Mo once again brings the unintentional comedy in quite a few scenes (especially the one where she is in bed lol).

Wyclef Jean’s video for “Sweetest Girl” featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, and Nia is out now. Although I give him an ounce of credit for his creativity…this video is just so low budget and just left field. It looks like a video someone made on youtube that’s basically a slideshow with music in the background. The message of the song is good though…too bad he went this route rather than a more plot driven video along the lines of Runaway Love.

What do you guys think about these videos? Isn’t the Twista video practically a total knock off on Kanye’s video? Is Lil Mo’s new look an upgrade or downgrade? Is Wyclef’s video creative or just low budget?

i think that ’sweetest girl’ video might not be the official one cause ppl on youtube always put together videos with the music in the background until the actual video drops. but if it is, they could have left that on the cutting room floor

lil mo’s video is extra low budget, i couldnt even get into it..

and the twista video has a nice visual flair…the similarities come from it being by the same director

on a random note, check out the stronger remix by kanye’s dj (a-trak) on hhnlive. if you like any form of techno, you’ll appreciate the remix

First of all, Thesis, why do you always change your picture? Are you a 14 year old little girl on blackplanet? Second, I AM JUST KIDDING WITH YOU! Third, that Give it up video is a rip off of Kanye’s Gold digger video with the colorful backgrounds and everything, Go on, tell me there’s no resemblance, Pharrell is wiggity-whack… wiggity-whack, people still say that right?

Reecie, I agree the video was cheap, but you gotta admit it’s unique and kinda cool.

I liked the Lil mo video; Im not a fan of Jim Jones but the song is alright to listen to. The Twista video is too much like Gold digger and I know he could have been a lot more unique than he was in this video. And Pharrell is one of the most creative producers I know.

i really like the lil mo song, and i agree with u reecie wtf was she doing on the bed? lmao, but it looks like lil mo is trying to get that sex sells money, and sorry she cant pull it off, not everybody can, some singers should just stick to singing.

The Wyclef video was unique… and I felt like it was more effective with the low budget video..
Lil Mo’ I would of gone for if I hadn’t seen her for so many years biggie-sized. *shrugs*
Pharrell pretty much ran that video, and Twista was an extra or stand-in rather. I liked the females but hands down its a ‘Ye rip-off.q

Its a ye rip off which is surprising since both are produced hype williams video. However they may have to edit some of Pharell mini-subliminal commercials in the video.

I really liked the Wyclef song. I didn’t think it needed a video. But it was unique.
