This weekend Usher married his pregnant fiancee in a private ceremony held at his lawyer’s office. Some sources are claiming that Usher’s mom was present for the ceremony, while others are disputing it. Unless there are pictures, we probably won’t know for sure. I’m glad to see such an anti-climatic end to this whole saga.
 

Eddie Murphy finally acknowledged what DNA had already confirmed…he is the dad of Mel B’s baby…but he denies that the child was planned. I know he was trying to get a dig in at Mel B. but that’s a f*&ked up thing to admit to the entire world…he proved himself to be a callous asshole by doing that. I’m sure he’ll have to explain his actions when that little girl grows up and finds out about his statements. Regardless of whether it’s the truth or not, he should’ve considered the feelings of his child…so he gets a major thumbs down for that one.

Kanye West said that he reads the blogs to give him a dose of humility. Here is what he had to say in the Aug/Sep issue of Complex Mag:

Man, it takes a really strong person to read the blogs; it’s just no holds barred. So if you’re feeling good about yourself and you want to feel like s***, go to the blogs. It’s good to have a place for someone to have unabashed opinions. Even if they’re dissing me or I’m the butt of jokes, I respect people giving their real opinion.

I think artists are starting to recognize the kind of influence that blogs have. They can get a whole lot more exposure from a million and one blogs than they can from a quick blurb in a major magazine.

Now that Usher has married Tameka, will they finally sit their a$$es down somewhere and quit being publicity sluts? Wasn’t it incredibly inappropriate and malicious for Eddie Murphy to say that his child wasn’t planned in a media statement (even if it’s true)? Will people ever get over Barry Bond’s alleged steroid use and just let the man play baseball? Isn’t it kind of cool to think of an artist of Kanye’s caliber reading your comments about his music on a blog?
