Kanye West put a Young Jeezy verse on the “official remix” of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”. When Young Jeezy comes on the track the first thing I thought was he ruined it…but Kanye comes on and spits new verses to redeem it. I know there are a lot of Jeezy fans out there, but I’m just not one of them and I’m not feeling his addition to the mix…so you guys can chop that up to me hating if it makes you feel better lol. Listen
Will.i.Am has a new track called “I Got it From My Mama”. I don’t see why he had to the leave his group to do equally as simple and brainless music. Since Juvenille did a much hotter track around the “Get it from her Mama” theme, it’s hard for me to be impressed wit this one. The beat is alright and maybe in the right setting it will grow on me. Listen
There is a reggae remix to Rihanna’s “Umbrella” floating around with Collie Budz on the track. I have to say that I really like the reggae twist to this song. Rihanna’s vocals flow perfectly over the new beat and this is pure hotness. This is the kind of song I could see a guy walking down Venice Beach on a hot summer day with a boombox over his shoulder playing lol. Listen
Keith Murray is seriously trying to come back and he has a new track called “U Ain’t Nobody” featuring Redman and Eric Sermon. I know I totally ignored his first single with Tyrese when it first came out, but when I saw the video I actually kind of like the song. But anyways…this song reminds me of the old Redman music, so it’s not exactly the freshest sound in the world…but I really like the energy on the song. So many rappers have these monotonous lazy flows (i.e. Fabolous) so to hear someone come on the track with fire and intensity is a nice departure from the norm. However…I still don’t know if it will be enough to appeal to a broad enough audience. Listen
What do you think about these new tracks? Was Young Jeezy really necessary? Does Will I Am have what it takes to go solo? Is the reggae sound more suitable than the rock sound for Umbrella? Can Keith Murray make a comeback and make the sound of him and Redman relevant again?

Im wit you on the Jeezy thang Reecie! I mean i like the man n all, but I dont think I can say I’m fan lol. Glad to know I aint the only one. Yes hatin will come your way cuz I get it all the time, but who cares? But the remix is only right to have Jeezy spit a full verse, its kinda like your ears are itchin for it on the original cuz of the samples in the background.
Will.I.Am is a great producer! Yes he creates a bunch of nonsense but hey it works! Every track that he has his hands on, I tend to luv it. This new joint had me crackin up.
Oh and you heard about Rhianna’s new umbrella line for Totes? Hehe….shoulda seen it coming!
Last but not least Mr. Murry….sometimes you just gotta hold on to your memories and let others keep the spotlight. At this point I hope he’s still making music simply for the love and not for profit cuz IT AINT GONNA HAPPIN, CAPT’IN! HEHE…I give him props for still gracing the mic though.
Jeezy and Kanye clash on style and it just doesn’t work. Jeezy spits glamor and Kanye spits substance (regardless if you agree with his message it is convictive one). All the rest of the tracks are clones of joints they did previous or of what someone else did and its BORING!

Lil Wayne told Kanye that he loved “Cant Tell Me Nothin” when Kanye joined Weezy on stage in NYC this last weekend… he even went as far to tell him that he’d be up to spittin on the remix. I don’t know if there will be more remixes, but since Wayne isn’t on the first official remix I think we can count on the man spittin over the beat in some future mixtape.
shaff - can i have your summer of 07 for a weekend?
i agree…jeezy definately brings the track down. kanye brings it back with his new verse though. i still like the original better. can’t get past jeezy talking the same old shit like he does on every song. i feel like he’d be the type to diss kanye’s style if he wasn’t trying to come up.
I think Will.i.am is a great producer. It kind of sad that it took a song like My Hump to make people realize this guy is talented. What does that tell you about the direction of the music industry? It also kind of sad that the Black Eyed Peas had to go pop to be successful. I guess once they are successful they can take there music in any direction and it will still be successful as long as they have Fergie. I guess they can go back to making albums like Behind the Front and this time it will be a hit.

My expectation for Will.i.am as a producer and a rapper are high but this song is kind of disappointing. I’m sure if I hear this song more I will like it and my expectation for his solo album is still high. Kind of sound like my hump.
ye can spit…but he shouldnt have got on the track with y. jeezy!
will.i.am missed with that song, but in general he aiight
