Bone Thugs has a new video for their banger “Lil Love” featuring Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, and Bow Wow. Everybody brings the heat on the song, so even with the simplicity of the video the energy of each artist is captivating. Mariah looks fantastic…it was really smart of her to take some time out of the spotlight and come back with a guest spot on a song like this. It’s also nice to see Mimi and Bone rekindle the great chemistry they had on her smash hit “Breakdown” several years ago. I can definitely see this song being a much bigger hit than their first single, as there is something in the song for everyone.
I’m going to need for artists like Sean Kingston to release a video for their song before 2 months of being on the radio…with that said…I still can’t help but like his catchy and infectious “Beautiful Girls”; so I’m happy to see his long overdue video for the song. I love the free spirited, doo-wop, throw back vibe of the video…it’s like a black version of “Grease”. Sean Kingston is so adorable, and I know that this video will win him over tons more fans. It’s great to see so much creativity and originality from an artist so young…other people could take some notes!
When I was on my cruise I heard this song for the first time that was so fun I’ve been dying to figure out the name of it so I can post it on the site. Well the song has finally made it to the west coast, so I was excited to finally find out the name of the song and who sings it. Despite the fact that this song is probably not new to anyone but Cali folks…I had to post the new video for the song Cupid Shuffle by Cupid! This song is so much fun to dance to whether you’re in your house or at the club. I love to dance, so I can’t stay in my seat when I hear it. The choreography is like a Hip Hop electric slide…and I think this song could really blow up if it got some good air play on BET. I know people are really down on songs that are about how to do a dance…but if you can’t enjoy this song, you need to seriously lighten up!
So what do you guys think about these new videos? Will Lil Love be the hit that Bone Thugs needs? Isn’t Sean Kingston’s new video a breath of fresh air? Can you do the Cupid Shuffle?

*Thanks to DJ Ray for the heads up about he Bone Thugs video!
Well, well, well…50 Cent has spoken out about his FLOP of a BET Awards performance on 106 & Park and you’ll never guess what his excuse was for his bombed performance! No it wasn’t that he was some mastermind who wanted to show the world that he could get paid to do a performance where he says nothing for the first two minutes (like many of his fans would love to believe). No it wasn’t some defiant protest to T.I.’s snub of Tony Yayo. No he wasn’t having mic problems or other technical difficulties. His big explanation? Taking off his sweatshirt and his hat made him so flustered that he lost his place in the song and couldn’t rebound in time to perform the first verse. LMAO! Wow…that’s the most pathetic excuse I’ve heard in a long time for a horrible performance. It’s even more comical to watch him, Rocsi, and Terrence dissect the non-existent differences between the dress rehearsal and the actual performance for an explanation about why things went awry. Come on now 50…that is just pitiful! You have to rehearse taking off your jacket or else all hell breaks loose? Excuses, excuses. I must say that it was enjoyable to watch him with his tail between his legs.
So what do you think about 50’s explanation? Is it more helpful or damaging to his image? How can people take him seriously as a tough guy when he gets flustered taking off his jacket? lol. Will 50 Cent stans be able to admit for once that 50 dropped the ball? Was 50’s performance on 106 & Park good enough to redeem himself?

Ashanti collaborated with her suddenly more p.d.a. boo Nelly on her new song “Switch”. The thing about this song is that the verses are pretty good…catchy and girl powerish lyrically and her voice sounds pretty good…but the hook is doing waaay too much. Nelly and Ashanti both singing the chorus is total overkill. I know this sounds weird…but the song would’ve been much better with just Ashanti for simplicity’s sake. I’m on the fence with this one…it could be hit, or people might be too annoyed by it to jock. The jury’s out…Click here to listen
One of my favorite and perhaps THE most slept on R&B songtress Teedra Moses has a new song out called “Love’s Gonna Be” that samples “Aint No Mountain High Enough”. I’m loving this track…Teedra has a totally unique voice and an incredible swagger that can carry any song even when she’s mellowed out. The lyrics..the singing…hotness! I don’t know the guy on the track, but I wouldn’t mind hearing more from him. I’ll take this song over Amy Winehouse’s “Tears Dry On Their Own”…after all I’m a romantic at heart…so love songs will always win me over compared to depressing heart broken songs. Click here to listen
What do you think about Ashanti’s new song? Is Ashanti going to be able to make waves with Switch? Isn’t it kind of funny that Nelly and Ashanti are being seen together more in public now that there is a single coming out? Are you feeling Teedra Moses’ new track? Are you a fan of her music or is this your first time hearing about her?

MTV is offering up a sneak peak at T.I.’s new album “T.I. vs. TIP” before it hits stores. Check it out here. Then come back and tell us what you thought about the album. Oh yeah and in case you were wondering (ladies) T.I. has reconciled with his long time girlfriend Tiny (from Xscape) and spoke about it in the issue of Vibe magazine.

Here is what he had to say:
…she means to me what my mother meant to me as a kid.” He added, “Somebody that you know is consistently there, has your best interests at heart, and if ain’t nobody else there in the world, [she] gon’ be there. [Tiny's] filled that spot in my life.”…
I’m glad to see that they have reconciled…she has obviously held him down for a long time now…so kudos to him for being appreciative of her support.

People have been speculating for months on the preggers status of Usher’s fiancee, Tameka Foster…and now they’ve got an official answer: they are expecting their first child together (and her fourth) in the fall.
Here is what the couple had to say:
We are extremely excited at this point in our lives planning our wedding and the joy that comes with expecting our first child together,” the couple said in a statement released to the Associated Press Wednesday. “We hope people will be happy for us and respect our privacy during this happy period in our lives.”
I always kind of find it ironic when people ask for folks to respect their privacy when they parade their personal lives in front of the media left and right. Tameka just did an interview with Essence.com that went into great detail about how their relationship formed and the direction is going. Whatever the case…I can’t argue that people aren’t entitled to their privacy whether they pimp out their private lives or not.
What do you guys think about the news of Usher being a daddy? Didn’t she just hit the jackpot with this one?

Kanye is bringing some much needed creativity and artistry back to the game with his first and now second video from Graduation- Stronger. He has an Asian super hero plot in the video as he goes through different stages of getting stronger. This is definitely one of the most visually interesting videos to watch that was come out in a long time…I only wish I knew what the hell the words popping up on the screen meant (I can’t even tell you what language that is lol). Cassie makes a cameo in the video as his love interest, which worked well for the video. I wasn’t instantly a fan of the song, but after listening to the lyrics more, I grew to appreciate it…I’m still going to give the nod to “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” as the better song though.
*Thanks to Redshade07 for giving us the heads up about the video!
What do you guys think about the video? Are you feeling the more plot driven, artistic direction that Kanye is taking his videos? Which song do you like better…Stronger or Can’t Tell Me Nothing?

Last night had to have been one of the hottest BET Awards to date with spectacular performances left and right. Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Holiday’s incredible performance of “And I Am Telling You” brought the house down within the first 5 minutes of the show. Nobody can deny the amazing talent of Jennifer Hudson to be able to hold her own against the original singer and Dreamgirl. There were plenty of other hot performances to go around though…but I gotta speak on the supreme wackness that is 50 Cent. First of all…how do you get on stage after so many brilliant performances, and not even rap the lyrics to your song? Why is a rapper lip syncing? He made a total mockery of the show by not even putting an ounce of effort into his performance and really just embarrassed himself. I gotta give props to Beyonce for silencing the naysayers by giving Ne-Yo credit for writing Irreplaceable…such a gracious act! T.I. also gets a thumbs up for apologizing for acting a damn fool by choking out Chaka Zulu (Luda’s manager) earlier this week. The Gerald Levert tribute took us to church! Patti Labelle was incredible…Glady’s Knight, Eddie Levert, and Yolanda Adams were amazing too. It was such a fanstatic and heartfelt performance…too bad it was followed by the horrible 50 Cent performance. Anyways…check out some of the performances from last night below:
Best Performance of the Night- I changed my vote to the Levert Tribute
Beyonce Killed “Get Me Bodied”..Kelly Needs to Step Up her Game “Like This”
50…Sit Your Ass Down!
50 Could take a lesson from T.I.- Big Things Poppin
The Second Best Performance- The Jennifers
Ciara barely sung Like A Boy but danced her ass off
Robin Thicke performed Lost Without U, but where’s Paula?
Diddy- The Other Lip Syncing Rapper, Keyshia Cole, & Lil Kim
Ne-Yo Still Needs Work on his Performance..Fabolous Does Too
Diana Ross Tribute was Hot! Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, & Chaka Kahn Salute
Public Enemy did a surprisingly good job with the James Brown Tribute
On another note…thehonorable and I had the pleasure of going to Jermaine Dupri’s BET Awards After Party last night, and I gotta say that this was the party of the year! EVERYONE under the sun was there including Tyler Perry, Janet Jackson, Ashanti & Nelly, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Big Boi, Murphy Lee, Diddy, Johnta Austin, Big Tigga, DJ Clue…and we were treated to performances by Mario, Ne-Yo, Ne-Yo and Fabolous, Lyfe Jennings, Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri, Chris Brown, and Ali & Gipp. Needless to say…it was so off the hook I had to give it a honorable mention. Once again the BET Awards lives up to delivering a great show and the hottest parties.
What did you guys think about the show? What was your favorite performance? Who flopped? How was Monique as the host?

P.S.- Remind me to never do a post with all Youtube videos again!
Amy Winehouse has a new video for her next single “Tears Dry On Their Own”. The song is absolutely fantastic as usual, but what the f*&k is up with her hair? That mess of a hair style is getting bigger and more horrendous each time we see her. At any rate…this video is much lighter and more vibrant than what we usually see from her, which I’m really digging. I doubt that Winehouse fan’s will be disappointed with this song/video…and it might even win her over a few more.
What do you think about the video? Do you prefer the lighter vibe of this video or the more dark and heavy videos she has released before this?
