Sup ya’ll…So I was thinkin’, it somewhat frustrates me when I see certain artists still put out cds when the public and the numbers express that they are no longer relevant. It befuddles me that someone is their camp or even their manager, or someone who loves them won’t tell’em to just stop and like, go get a degree or sommin! Do something…just stop recording….But time and time again, we get these artists who still feel they can make noise….So yes folks, list the names of artists who seriously need to just leave the game and go pick up another hobby….
1. LL “Stop Riding 50″ Cool J
2. DMX (well, he hasn’t dropped in a minute. does that mean he’s finally put two and two together?)
3. Rakim…..alright i’m a lil swayed on this topic…i think Ra has one more album left to really do sommin potent…He’s droppin “The 7th Seal” soon….which is also rumoured to be his last album…
4. Cam’ron….With all of his recent antics, it just seems that Cam has bodied himself. Before all of this, i gave him some love for droppin Confessions & SDE. After he started doin that gooney goo goo and ooley loo loo shyt, i ended my support contract for dude….Although, i will say there were some cuts on Purple Haze that weren’t bad at all….But Cam, it’s ova homie!
5. Tony Yayo, Young Buck- His career ended before it begun. I don’t even know why he put out an album…anyway, add him to the list too. Young Buck, i don’t even know where he fits in rap…what’s his persona? Part of me wanted to add Lloyd Banks but I think he has a lot of potential to get out of 50s shadow and really develop his content…i’m not a fan of dude…just think he needs more maturation…
6. Joe- I really say this with a lot of regret. I really gave Joe a shot with this last CD to redeem himself in the R&B game but it was a disappointment. While I did enjoy some cuts, overall, I felt it was a lackluster effort by an individual who has been in the game for like over a decade. Part of me wants to give him one more album….but it probably won’t matter anyway….Joe, you my dude, but son, it’s a wrap!
7. Ashanti- She had her day…We supported her while Murder Inc was poppin those poppy hits….Someone dared to call her the princess of R&B or whatever the hell it was….Sorry, neva was a fan of Ashanti…never will be….
8. Ja Rule- Ummm….i’m a lil on the fence with this….i’ll have to think about this sommore!
9. Lauryn Hill……I knoooooow I will get flack for this….I’m sorry, ima tell it like it is…Lauryn hasn’t been relevant in 5-7 cot damn years…..She WAS ill. We keep cuttin’ her slack cause on Miseducation and Fugees and what not….but she hasn’t put out nothin worth reminding me about……It’s either she’s gonna do something progressive about her career or she aint doin nothin….I love Lauryn…everyone does….but damn, she gotta drop sommin!
10. D’Angelo- Damn, if I added Lauryn to the list, would I have to add D’Angelo? I dunno….i’ll get back to you….D’Angelo my dude so i’ll prolly renig on this in a few minutes….yeah…..I’ll give the bul anotha chance….
11. Fat “Crack is Wack” Joe- Yeah, so in his lengthy career, the only song he’ll be remembered for is “Lean Back.” Sorry Joey, you gotta go!
Who else do you think needs to be on dis list?

*UPDATE*
P.S: R. Kelly- Per Reecie’s recent bodyin’ of R. Kelly, Kells is washed up. Kells, nice knowin ya!

lol…Thesis you’re hilarious for this one. I personally still love LL Cool J…but if he’s going to let 50 steer his career then he needs to just retire now. If he goes back to his “Luv You Better” or “Hey Lover” days he will be good to go.
Cam’ron should go into comedic acting. As far as everyone else…eehhh…I can’t say I disagree too much. As far others that need to retire…I don’t really know…but I can give you a list of people who should never be allowed to speak in public again!
R Kelly…or at least, he needs a break. Way too obsessed over sex…like, WAY too obsessed. It’s uncomfortable to listen to him for me lol. Cool J, well probably. DMX, nah, he just needs a few listens to Food & Liquor, maybe some Nas to get a bit better. Ja has had plenty of second chances, but I think he can get away with one more. Lauryn Hill…well, you’re pretty much right there. She was good in her day, but now what? Yayo was good during the mixtape thing with the unit, but fell off as if he jumped ship. Buck…who knows. Cam, yeah. Fat Joe…well, he won’t be too successful these days, but he is pretty good enough in my eyes. The rest, I agree.
Also, all these one-shots like MIMS and Rich Boy should kinda get out the game before the dissings start by the real MC’s.
Agree with EVERYTHING but… 2 things to say… R. Kelly REALLY needs to go he has 2. 2 GOOD SONGS on his new album… the 2 that aren’t about sex. Rise Up and also Same Girl. And Young Buck I think is a sick rapper… I can’t see why you think he needs to go… niiiiiiiiice otherwise
Anybody over 28.
why over 28? LOL.
That’s Common and Kanye…so man, I have to disagree.
After Reecie’s review, it appears that R. Kelly may need to call it a career.
LMAO…son, i just posted the update and saw what you posted….lol
lol @ over 28…..damn b, that’ll be like 3/4ths the whole emcee catalogue we have out right now…
Well everyone’s talking about how “down” the game is right now, so I didn’t think anyone would mind. Personally, I’m all about the music, I try not to get too caught up with the artists. Kanye and Common are a little different because they are not portraying an image, they are essentially being themselves. But all the rappers that are grown-ass men trying to live the life of a kid, could easily retire and work more behind the scenes. We have too many people talentless people working in the offices of these companies anyway. Give some of these rappers, 9 to 5’s, got dammit. Lol.
Can’t forget my “bodying” of Kells. Kinda like…3rd reply. Eh, lol not bodying but still.
Overall I think It’s a great list- but I have a few exceptions.
I think Buck has a little bit of potential– I’ve seen it as he sways a little away from G-Unit that he could go in the Game direction. But beyond the drama dude has some talent. His new CD, which isn’t great, has some real good spots. Listen to “Slow Ya Roll” which happens to be my personal favorite. Buck has to find his path, but don’t rule him out just yet.\
Secondly, Ja. Dude had his bags packed, his greatest hits album out which flopped- it seemed time to go, yet a couple tracks from his new album are really promising. Namely “Free” featuring Ashley Joi. Give him one final shot with his new album.
Lastly, Fat Joe. Dude is struggling. His last album was straight garbage, but I still can’t pull the plug on Crack after his verse on “We Takin’ Over”. He showed that he still has his flow, he’s just gotta learn for once in his career how to make an album. The game ain’t all about the singles charts man…
I would also add Jermaine Dupri to this list– strictly as a rapper. He’s still bringin heat with his production but his “Welcome to Atlanta” shine days are over on the mic and he needs to hang it up to work on his beats. Enough said.
I can’t agree with the LL part! That’s my man and always will be…so needless to say, I will always support him. Also, why you gotta diss my latino peeps…Fat Joe! Personally, I am sick of the “Pop, Lock & Drop It”, “Throw some D’s” and other crap that is on the radio. Those are the ones that need to sit in a corner and find another career. Personally, rap is disappointing these days…everybody saying the same ol thing! Nothing’s original!
if i ever read something that says r. kelly should retire on this site again, ill probably never check this site again. total ludacris…
I’m not sure how you can include folks like Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, DMX, etc. on that list–there’s no real substantial proof that they’ve lost their way. It’s not like with Fat Joe or Kells, who’ve dropped new material within the last year which proved that they had lost a step.
Once Lauryn…uh, excuse me…Ms. Hill (© Talib)…drops an album like “Me, Myself & I” then I’ll be the first person calling for her retirement. But until then, I’ll just wait on some new material.
Will Smith.
…please. Just stop.
I think one person you should add to this list is Brain Mcknight. The guy is very talented but his last two albums were disappointed. I did like superhero and the one after that then that is it. I think Young Buck is good but the production on his new album wasn’t as great as the one on his last one.
Nycole- I don’t care if Joey Criidack was Hungarian, he need to retire! Hot singles and summer heat rockas don’t make a good artist. Consistency, longevity, and some kind of influence is what this is all about…And oh, about LL…you may support him but doesn’t mean he needs to continue droppin albums…you can support him if he goes back to school and gets a degree…but on the album tip…yeah, b e z patna….also, whats good wit this Todd Smith clothin line…a lil late in that game aren’t we Todd? Personally, if there’s anyone who should be in Jay’s place, it shoulda been LL…he backwards hustled….now he jumpin on 50’s campaign…i’m good wit that dude.
Oh yeah, “pop lock & drop it” is type annoying…fuh real
Natthedem- Please check out what I wrote more meticulously…I renigged D’Angela….DMX? u serious? lol…cmon b….he was nice….but when he started preaching and backing up his actions with DUIs and speeding and coke possesion, I was all set with the bul. Yo see, thats the thing….we keep sayin “Ms. Hill.” Ms. Hill ain’t been “Ms. Hill” in like 7 years…i aint givin Lauryn another year. She had me at hello….I’m sayin good bye. lol
Stephenc- lol….Love R. Kelly eh?
Joshooah- Actually Will hasn’t dropped an album in yeeeears…I don’t think he will be droppin’ anyway…He’s in a totally different league now b.
A Nony Mous- mad rappers need behind the desk jobs. lol…
Stallion- Damn…Brian McKnight, that’s my dude too man…But i think his presence in the game is more symbolic/iconic…i think he needs to be there to show R&B cats that you dont need to thuggafy ya lyrics to be grown and sexy….Brian McKnight one of the older heads in the game…the game needs him….
I have to totally agree with the entire list.. They all need to goto the Employment office… “Don’t be mad UPS is hiring”
http://thexfacta.wordpress.com
LL needed to go several years ago….I cant even remember the last time I was excited by a new LL release. I agree with the rest of the list except Lauryn…I understand why she is there I just cant except that the woman who was part of the amazing Fugees and made the beautiful Misseducation cant get her s**t togehter and produce more quality music.
@ Thesis
Nah man, Big Willie dropped a new album in 2005 not to mention singles for the soundtrack of whatever movie he’s doing. Does you not even knowing he was still putting out albums make me right? People aren’t even paying enough attention to him to know he’s still making music.
Lauryn is gone unless we get that much promised Fugees reunion.
“I think one person you should add to this list is Brain Mcknight. The guy is very talented but his last two albums were disappointed.”
I loooooved Brian McKnight’s album Gemini…there are least 2 wedding songs on there lol. That album was fantastic and had so much depth and amazing singing. His last album (forgot the name) was pretty good…not as good as Gemini, but I still like him. He definitely shouldn’t retire though…he still has the goods.
As far as R. Kelly…I did eviserate him in my review of his album…but I hope his album will flop and he will realize that he should stick to doing the kind of music that has gotten him so far. Think about it…if he released Double Up instead of Chocolate Factory during that whole sex tape drama…he would be sitting his a$$ in jail right now!
“Lauryn is gone unless we get that much promised Fugees reunion.”
Word….is John Forte still in the bing?
Yeah, we need Fugees back for sure. PS, I feel like Kells won’t flop but will take heat. No homo lol.
lol @ someone spelling ludicrous like the rappers name. hip-hop really has messed us up.
^^^WORD!!! Fabolous eh? lmao
Ya seem to have a lil problem spelling here due to hip hop… I will wait to see if ya get that one!
http://thexfacta.wordpress.com
Ice T.. Did anyone check out his last album at all?
I still believe in Lauryn, and disagree with the Rakim part.. He’s still the god after all
Damn, so I was at the store the otha day buyin’ Common’s jawn and saw the cd Will Smith dropped in ‘05…damn, where the hell was I? lol
Rly, where WERE u.
50 need 2 retire his ass can’t rap. all he does is make dis records éverytime his album comes out…50 we kno your plans….no ones buying it anymore…September 11th kanye gonna blow his ass out the water…maybe that would convince him to get out the game…cop that Graduation!
wow its like i agreed with you all the way until u put r.kelly on the list :\ really doesnt r.kelly still sale >.> i didnt know his albums were flopping. . . i mean he also produces othehr artist writes songs for other artist >.> it’s not over for r.kelly trust me.
