Since it’s a slow news day…hell it has been a slow news week. I got to thinking…lately there have been quite a few songs that make people ask themselves, “Why do I like this song?” Thesis hit up me and The Honorable on email asking himself why do I like T-Pain “Buy You a Drank“…The Honorable told me he likes Chamillionaire “Not a Criminal” I don’t know if he wondered why he likes that song, but I was mystified. Here is a short list of songs that make me wonder, “Why do I like this song?!”
Pretty Ricky- On The Hotline- There is absolutely NOTHING sexy about these dudes, but this song is so catchy and their non-singing is infectious.
Unk- Walk It Out- I don’t know how anyone can-not like this song, but I LOVE this song. This song can bring me out of a coma, infuse some life into me after a long day, it’s just so damn catchy.
The Game/Kanye West- Wouldn’t Get Far- I know I shouldn’t like this song for “girl power” reasons…but I can’t help but like the way Kanye expertly intertwined the sample into the hook and verses of the song.
Swizz Beatz- It’s Me Snitches- This song is lyrically weak, and the freezing every 20 seconds is so stupid…yet I still found myself getting into it when I went out this week.
I know people are going to think I’m crazy, but I still don’t get why people like Rich Boy “Throw Some D’z on Em” so much. It’s a cool song, but I don’t think it’s worth all the hype people give it. I like Kanye’s remix much better. I don’t understand why people like Young Jeezy feat. R. Kelly “Go Getta”…that song is amazingly wack!

Throw Some Dz - amazing production and infectious hook…also, so many ppl can relate to buying a “Scraper” and put some rims on their whip to upgrade the car. Also, the remix is fire with Andre 3000
Go Gettaz - So much energy in that song with a repeatitive message - Hustlin. Also, we can never have too much R. Kelly music.
how do you like “It’s Me Snitches,” but not like “Not A Criminal” The production in Not A Criminal is fresh and Cham kills it with his flow…Kelis was non-existent, but still a good song…but i dont see it being a hit.
I agree with the honorable, I love Not A Criminal but that swizz joint is wack.
I also feel this way about “Buddy”.

Not a Criminal has a hot beat…but Chamillionaire is wack and very unattractive. Kelis makes the song better though.
Oh yeah and I seriously had Buy You a Drank confused with another song…because after listening to it again that song is trash! But now that begs the question, what was the song I actually liked? Hmm….

I can’t believe “Buy You A Drank” got as big as it did. It’s extremely unoriginal– he’s just jacking swag from others cause he can’t come up with songs on his own. Or atleast clever one’s.
